The Pomeranian is a small, compact, short-backed, active dog. It has a soft, dense undercoat with a profuse, harsh topcoat. Its heavily feathered tail is set high and lies flat on its back. It is alert in temperament, intelligent in expression, dynamic in demeanor, and naturally curious. The Pomeranian is arrogant, assertive, and lively in its gait. It is sound in composition and action.
